Dr. Deborah Kim is a board-certified adult psychiatrist in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Kim graduated medical school from the University of Pittsburgh and did her psychiatry residency at the University of Pennsylvania.  She went on to complete a highly recognized 2 year research fellowship at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center.  She has been treating patients for over 15 years and has extensive knowledge regarding the use of psychopharmacology and other biological treatments for mental illness.  Dr. Kim specializes in the treatment of perinatal (during and after pregnancy) mood and anxiety disorders. Additionally, Dr. Kim has expertise in the treatment of patients with major medical co-morbidities, PMS/PMDD, menopausal issues and bipolar disorder. She is often sought out by patients who have treatment resistance illnesses and are looking for novel options.  Dr. Kim has been using trancranial magnetic stimulation in research studies since 2005 and is clinically certified in treating patients with TMS.  She has now added IV ketamine to her practice as an additional treatment option for patients with depression and anxiety who have not responded to other treatments.  She has been awarded multiple government research grants and has published numerous journal articles as well as lectures both nationally and internationally.  Dr. Kim provides confidential, comfortable and the highest quality consultations care for her patients and will go over all the biological options available.  She is excited to be able to offer so many options to patients suffering with mood and anxiety disorders.
